Mystery of NAME

My name says MOMAI. When I started understanding this mysterious world the 1^st thing that strikes my head was, ‘What’s the meaning of my name?’ I was totally puzzled.  When I asked my mom, she said that my dad gave me the name. I asked dad, guess what he said to me! ‘I don’t know. But I like the name that’s why I insist on keeping the name.’ I still remember how much I laughed that day.

Few years later when I found some childhood photos, I found a new name-INDIRA. That would have been nice….what say? I was shocked but I was happy as well as I don’t have to share my name with anyone. I started analyzing the name. I ended up with a funny answer. MOM means candle in Bengali…and MOMAI means ‘candle like’. It is what I say to everyone now. The interesting thing about the name is that when you reverse it, it says I-AM-OM…

But ‘picture abhi baki hain mere dost…’ I opened my Orkut account about 10 yrs ago. I was alone with the name. After about 1 year I found that I share my name with a GODDESS of Guajarati people. May God bless me! And now I found that there was a famous commander-in chief in Ahom kingdom in Assam named Momai Tamuli Borbarua. And now you will find more than one people with the name. I still wonder how on earth the name struck my father!

Better late than never..

 After about five years of opening my blog here's my first post.. How weird it seems! I actually don't know where to start from.

I first started writing by chance.  In standard VI, I was sitting idle in my class as the scheduled teacher was absent. I just wrote a line. Then it struck me that I should write the second line so as to complete the sentence. I kept on thinking and was scribbling whatever was coming in my mind. The result was a poem. It was my sister who one day found the copy and insists me to try my hand in writing. So that was the beginning..
